General Maintenance
Ballistol can be used for the lasting
lubrication of anything that moves and binds or squeaks. Sliding doors,
door hinges, sliding windows, casement and awning windows, locks,
switches, door handles etc. can be treated with Ballistol. Ballistol
penetrates and creeps. It will propel itself to areas to which it cannot
be directly applied. Since it never gums up or hardens the lubricating
effect will last very long. Moving and non-moving parts out of metal can
be protected against corrosion with Ballistol. The vent openings of
heating and AC systems are often hard to adjust. A drop of Ballistol
will change that permanently. Ballistol is the choice for the
maintenance of all hand held tools. Ballistol can be used in many ways
for housekeeping and building maintenance.
Water Carrying and Cryogenic
Equipment
Since Ballistol emulsifies with water it
can be applied even on wet equipment, such as kitchen or rest room
appliances, faucets, hose connections, swimming pool equipment etc.
Ballistol retains its lubricity down to very low temperatures. This is
why it can be used effectively in equipment where cold and humid
conditions prevail such as refrigerators, deep freezers, air
conditioning equipment etc. both in buildings and in trucks.
Ballistol is especially suited for the
lubrication and maintenance of valves and faucets of water organs and
fountains in systems which contain live fish and in aquariums due to its
capability to lubricate even in the presence of water and due to its
non-toxicity for fish and other aquatic life forms.
Kitchens and Bars
Ballistol cleans and shines all stainless
steel equipment. It leaves a thin soft film on SS surfaces which
inhibits starch and protein in attaching themselves to these surfaces.
For extremely exposed areas such as under vent hoods etc. it may be
necessary to use a detergent or even abrasive material first and then
treat the surface with Ballistol. This will reduce the future build-up
of residues inside the hood and facilitate future cleaning. Ballistol
can also be used to clean galvanized equipment. It will help to remove
and inhibit the build-up of calcium residues on equipment frequently
exposed to dripping water. Ballistol can be used to lubricate seals and
gaskets inside faucets, in fact, it can even be applied under water.
Ballistol can be used to maintain, clean
and lubricate critical kitchen equipment such as commercial can and
bottle openers.
Ballistol cleans copper, brass and bronze
appliances in hotels and restaurants. It dissolves old layers of
oxidation and inhibits the build-up of new ones. Just spray on Ballistol,
allow to act for several minutes and wipe with dry clean cotton cloth
(do not use synthetic fiber).
Furniture
Ballistol can be used to maintain, clean
and protect all furniture. It prevents rust on metallic furniture. It
can be used to clean vinyl seat covers. It can lubricate the links and
joints of folding chairs and conference tables. Ballistol is ideal for
antique furniture. It brings out the wood grain and luster of old wood
and protects it against damage from humidity, dry air and Insects.
Ballistol can also be used to create a protective shield on wooden
floors and decks against mildew and mold and other fungus related
stains. Being alkaline, Ballistol inhibits the growth of fungus in
leather and wood. Ballistol can also be used to clean and protect
leather on leather furniture or desk plates etc. It keeps leather from
becoming hard and brittle. Ballistol stops beds from squeaking and fans
from shimmying. A thin film of Ballistol on the blades of ceiling fans
slows down the build-up of dust. Ballistol can remove oil or tar stains
from carpets and vinyl floors.
Mobile Equipment
Ballistol lubricates fork lifts, pallet
movers, man trucks, shopping carts, tea tables, room service tables and
other rolling catering equipment, adjustable loading ramps on trucks and
loading docks, warehouse doors, revolving doors, two way swing doors,
conveyor belt rolls, golf carts, housekeeping carts and everything else
that has wheels, ball bearings, axles or hinges.
Plants
In an emulsion of 1-3% of Ballistol with
cold water, Ballistol can be sprayed on potted plants and garden plants.
It forms a mechanical protective shield against mites, aphids, fungus,
spiders etc. on the leaves and roots of plants and serves as a
fertilizer when decomposing in aerobic degradation. However, Ballistol
is not an insecticide or pesticide.
Office Equipment, Electronic and
Electrical Equipment
Ballistol lubricates typewriters,
electronic printers, moving parts in computers, copy machines and
calculators. It lubricates drawers, file cabinets and the wheels of
office chairs. It lubricates the moving parts of cash registers and
switches on lamps. Ballistol can be used to clean telephones and TV sets
or to loosen corroded breaker switches. Ballistol is safe to use on
electrical and electronic equipment.
Cars and Trucks
Ballistol can be used as a general
lubricant and corrosion inhibitor in and on all cars and trucks. It can
neutralize the effects from spilled battery fluid on battery contacts
and connecting cables. It cleans and shines dash boards. When mixed with
cold rinsing water (approx. 3-9 fl.oz. of Ballistol per each gallon of
water) Ballistol works like a polish for dull car paint. Mixed with
gasoline (2-3 fl.oz. of Ballistol per gallon of fuel) Ballistol works as
an octane booster. When mixed with low sulphur diesel fuel (1%
Ballistol) Ballistol restores most of the diesel fuel¡¯s lost lubricity.
Since Ballistol mixes with fuel and with water, it makes water mix with
fuel. In this fashion water can be eliminated from fuel tanks.
